Adjusting Track volume via script

Postby Linton9 » Thu Nov 22, 2012 11:43 pm

Seems the volume parameter in a track can only take linear values, and of course db is logarithmic.
Means if I write a script to set the volume on a track to 3db, the value required is something unusual like 1.412.

If the parameter is 'Volume' could the script value take '-12' as a value for -12db?

Hi Lynden,

the value range for the audio volume on a layer is 0 to 2, while 0-1 is related to -96dB to 0db and 1-2 is referring to 0dB to 6dB.

You could build your own dB-fader with a range node.

Does that help?
