Excel Writer Problem

Postby JustynR » Sat Nov 24, 2012 8:21 pm

I have been trying to get the Excel Writer node to well... write.

I have not had any luck however.
I am using Windows 7.

Is there a specific version of .xls I need?
Should the Worksheet Drop menu Populate with a list of Worksheets from the file?

I have tried on an actual Microsoft Excel file, however I am using OpenOffice to view these files.

I am trying to create a login type Widget.
People are to log in via a screen or a WebServer page (Smartphone interface).

The idea is to have different Text Boxes - First name, Last name, Email and so on.
They play a game (can't say what it is yet... don't know...) they get points for playing the game.

The main reason we want this is so that these points can be applied to something else, like an account, or so they can log in and play again and have their points add up.

The only way I can think to do this is to have everything write to an Excel sheet.
The main thing I have been trying to figure out is how to have a User Name & Password Dialoug that can search for a user name and log them in inside WD.

Any ideas on any of this?

Thanks,

J

Hi Justyn,

as we are working with the .NET-Framework we can only communicate with the original MS Excel installation. OpenOffice will not install itself into the framework that it can be used.
Switching to MS Excel, should solve all your issues.
