multiple network cards

Postby rubendesnoo » Mon Dec 17, 2012 2:04 pm

Hi,

Is in possible to work with WD and two network cards.
I would like to receive artnet in a card in the range 2.0.0.x, and I would like to send UDP ascii commands to a different ip range, so I think this must be a different natwork card, am I right?

Is that possibe in WD?

Hi Ruben,

we have just changed the behavior of Pandoras Box dealing with more than one IP-adress, therefore it definitely makes sense to do the same in Widget,
BUT, as for now, it is not implemented.
At the moment Pandoras Box deals with only one address.

Are you sending the UDP data to a multicast address? In this case it shouldn't matter what's your sending IP.

Hi,

I'm sending udp in Broadcast, then the sending ip also doesn't matter, am I right?

But, maybe I better switch to multicast, it reliefs my network data traffic, I think.

Hi Ruben,

broadcast definitely solves all connection issues, but it shows up with others... ;-)
You are right, broadcast doesn't care for IPs when you are really broadcasting at 255.255.255.255, but as you said, it will jam your system.
