How to trigger this?

Postby squarepixel » Thu Jan 03, 2013 3:44 pm

Hi Guys,

I have a question, I had some ideas on how to do this project but I'm a bit unsure on how to continue. Hope somebody can tell me how to do this and if this is possible anyway....

Thanks in advance!

PDF file is attached, I really hope someone can help me a bit :)

Hi,

there are multiple ways to approach this.

WD Pro with Camera Tracking or Infared camera
WD Pro with Airscan (Laser Positioning)

It all depends on where you can put the camera or the laser.

Hi Daniel,

thanks for your reply. But can Airscan do this? The distance between person and the window is +/- 3 meter....

The Airscan can cover an 80' radius from the scanner itself @ approximately 190 degrees.

It will accurately scan things from about an inch away to about 40' (in my experience). Because it is a device that sends out a laser on a radius, the farther away from the source you go, the further away the beams and the lower the resolution.
For your application, that shouldn't matter.

What's even better is that this device is IP 66 (or higher... it is made to work around a lot of dust and particles) So you could put it outside... there is even a version with a heater in it... if you're in need of that kind of thing.

Cheers,
