Control Powerpoint from WD

What is the best way to control a PowerPoint presentation from WD.
Sending commands with PB Spark to another PowerPoint machine? Or is it possibel to run Powerpoint in the background on the same machine WD is running.
I want to create a small WD app like the WD playlist function. But beside controlling video clips and audio files I want to control a PowerPoint as well. Simple commands like next, previous, start and stop is enough.

I think PB Spark or another Widget Designer which executes keypresses will be a good solution.
