WD Crashes on Startup

I have a machine running XP SP3 and soon as WD launches I get the "has encountered a problem and needs to close" error.

Anyone know an obvious cause for this?

Hi,

a couple of questions:
- did WD ever run on the maschine or is it a new install?

if new install:

please check that the following Software is installed:

- c++ Runtimes
- DirectX 9.0c
- .NET 2.0 and 3.5 including the latest updates

It's a new install so thanks I'll check those out and report back.

If I am not mistaken, the Pandoras Box installer has that built right in.
Run the installer and follow the prompts up to the point where you would need a dongle and that should install all of the components you need.
That is what I do for fresh installs for anything Coolux related anyways and it usually seems to work.
