Airscan | Unlimited Rotation on the X Angle

Postby honsbeek » Mon Oct 21, 2013 4:26 pm

Hi Guys

We are working on a test case with the Airscan.
We have a world, and we want to rotate unlimited to the left or right.

We use now a Add Relative node for the rotation, With a

Default 0
Min -360
Max 360

If we rotate the world and the Add Relative node reach - 360 or 360 we can't rotate the world that direction any more.
We wan't to try reset the node, but it was not working without seeing it was reset..

So how to rotate unlimited on a X as with the airscan ?

Node's we used are :
Airscan input --> Delta --> Max --> Min --> Multiply --> Add Relative --> Prediction --> Layer Control

Thanks,

You will want to use a "Modulo" node.

It is found under "Math Nodes"

What this does is resets your rotation to 0 once it gets to 360 (since 360 = 0 it works).

You will also need to go into your engine settings (in the inspector in PB) and turn your X rotation transitioning from 500ms to 0ms. This will take the slight delay / smoothing that each parameter has to account for DMX or 8 bit input and make the changes immediately. This way you won't see it snap back to 0.

Just set the number in the Modulo to 359.

Your nodes would probably look like this:

Airscan input --> Delta --> Max --> Min --> Multiply --> Add Relative --> Modulo --> Prediction --> Layer Control
