Subtitles

Postby Katlaan » Thu Dec 19, 2013 11:16 pm

Hi,

I'm trying to create an easy to use Widget for subtitles.
First I thought of the Text input, copy the text and just click next line...
But what about 2 lines? Or sometimes 2 lines sometimes just 1 line?

I created via an Excel Readout and a couple of variables a WD that selects the next cell via a Custom Script.
All works fine when you have Excel installed... So now I'm looking for a way without Excel... (or with the free excel viewer from Microsoft)

Has anyone else created something like this? Any advice is welcome...

Greetings

Hi,

the Excel nodes can only be used with a full Office Professional installation. The viewer does not include the .Net Programmability Support.

I was thinking about a widget device in the timeline and using the script to submit commands setting the text asset's value. This way you can synchronize it to your timeline.

Best regards

Hi,

Ok good to know.

Now I programmed it on my laptop and trigger the subtitles...

We can't put it to timeline because we use SMPTE for the songs and some cues are manually. There will be an extra person triggering the subtitles so for now we're good.
I was just thinking for other options as well...
