I'm trying create a TCP connection in the connection manager using port 50000, and I get the error "This port is reserved for internal use, please select a different port.”

I can not change the port number on the device I’m trying to control. Is there any way to work around this?

I’m using WD Pro v1100

Hello,

the port is being used by Pandoras Box applications and can not be used in Widget Designer. Unfortunately this port was also blocked for outgoing connections. We have resolved this problem in a newer version.

Good to know.

I'll just send the packets to a 3rd party application that will in turn send the appropriate commands to the device that can only use port 50000.
