I have a project to ID track figure skaters on ice hockey ring.
I have 8pcs of prime 41 cameras. Is it enough?
What is maximum distance with those cameras?

Ice hockey hall is very dark at the show time and i think not much ir "shit" in air.

Anyone has been done this kind of project?

I allready try setup at 5times smaller scale and it work really nice. I worry about bigger scale "ice hockey ring 60m X 30m".

Hi!

This a really cool project, the setup looks good.

We have only made camera distance tests with the S250, Prime 13 and Flex3, but all models could be used with a distance of 100m to the ID tag without problems.
Just keep in mind that you will have to increase the exposure time the farther away you go with your camera and that the ambient light has a larger influence then.
But as you say you have a very dark hall, there should be no problem achieving good results there.

8 cameras should be enough to track quite well, but you would have to see on site if the tracking resolution is high enough for your purpose. Adding more cameras to the system increases the quality when you have large distances.

Is this assessment helpful for you?

Cheers,

Janina
