Error 31

Postby JustynR » Sat Oct 09, 2010 8:15 pm

Hello,
I am having a frustrating problem on one of my machines I have tried to install WD Pro on...

I keep getting Error 31: Feature not found coming up on the screen when I try to add something or edit something.

I have installed this on other machines, the dongle works... I have uninstalled and reinstalled 5.7 & 5.86 versions of the driver... rebooted, tried different USB ports uninstalled and reinstalled the WD Pro REV 107 and REV 103.

I had it working on another machine with PB running on a machine with the EXACT same hardware except.... this machine with the problems has a SDI Duo card installed in it... this is the only difference.

I am going to try it on another machine without a capture card...

Any other ideas?

Uninstalling the Black Magic drivers and updating them fixed the issue...

Thanks :)

Hi,

are you getting the error 31 when running the Widget Designer or the Manager?

Can you post a screenshot of this message here so that I can take a look at it?
Can you read out the Dongle Information and send it to me, so that we can check if your Dongle is okay?

Thanks and best wishes

Patrick

It happens when I am running the WD Pro, not the Manager.
I can post a screen pic next week, but its only 1 message box that says:

"Error 31: Feature not found"

Under it there is just an "OK" button.

I've emailed you the info as you've requested - however, I have found out that if I uninstall the drivers for the Black Magic SDI Duo - I don't get this error. If I re-install the black magic driver, the error comes back.

Thanks

Hi Justyn,

can you please update your dongle driver to the latest Version and give it a try. It looks like a driver problem between the dongle driver an the blackmagic one.
Maybe there is also an update for the input card somewhere....

Please let me know if this helps.

regards

Patrick

I have the latest dongle driver, and the latest capture card driver installed.
I have tried older versions - and different version combinations.

I have also tried this card in a different machine with the same results - works fine until I install the capture card drivers....

Thanks

Hi,

okay, in that case I do not have another idea. Do you need to have the capture card installed while running the Widget Designer? Than I would spend some more time on this. If you do not need it anyway and if you are happy now, I´m happy as well......

regards

I would like to use it for LDI in Vegas...

I am trying to output from one server - one that I can cue and have things cross-fade, PIP, chroma key and so on... and input it into a capture card so I can see the window on the machine I'm controlling it on...

I hope that makes sense...

I have a WD Pro I am running a manager on that is controlling 1 server that is controlling a Light wall, and another that is outputting to 2 or 3 plasma screens and to the WD.

I don't want to use the video player panel that exists in WD - it doesn't really suit the need.

Thank you

Hi,

okay, I understand. Can you run a Widget STD with the capture card? Maybe you can use your Pro File on the STD Version for the Showrun and use the input card with this.

What time are you setting up for LDI? I will be in Vegas from Tuesday on.

regards

Yes, the video panel does work in STD, BUT there is no option to configure video inputs in STD - you can only do this in PRO.

The problem with this is, every time I try to configure the video inputs in PRO - I get this error. :-(

I am at LDI Wednesday on.

Hi,

shall we meet on LDI so that I can take a look at it? I will be on the Coolux Booth for build up and programming from Tuesday on, till the end of the Show.... Maybe you find a minute to come by?

regards

That's fine... but I need to program ahead of time.. if we can't make this work... then what? We will have a display that is not doing anything right in the middle of our booth. I will program both options - the clean neat one with the capture card, and the clumsy non - stable one with the video player panel.

For now I do not have a real Idea. I talked to Jan already and he will check if there is anything in the Widget he can do. But he is very busy right know as we prepare some things for LDI. He will go to the states as well by the end of the week.

I will think about some more ideas and let you know....

UPDATE!!!

I borrowed a COOLUX VGA capture card from Jason Riordan.... Downloaded the driver from this website - and still doesn't work...

I uninstalled the driver for this capture card, and it worked

I will try different versions of the HASP driver tomorrow, but none the less, very frustrating.

The card worked on its own, and in PB, but again opening PB, clicking 'tools' and trying to configure the video input I get the 'error 31'.

Does this help?
