Multiple NICs

Postby djrappa » Sun Sep 28, 2014 6:03 am

Hi
I have a project where WD will run on a machine with two network cards. One talks to a multitude of devices on a 192 address range, the other outputs Artnet on a 2. IP range.

Can I have WD talk to some items (like projectors for example) on the first NIC but output on an Artnet Node on the second NIC?
Cheers

From my experience, this is fine.
Network traffic at that level is handled by Windows, not WD.
So - if you send data to a network range only available on one NIC, then that is where it will go... Basic routing by Windows.
Same idea as if you had a local network in one range and your wifi on another. You can still get the internet and ping the computer next to you. You don't need to specify the network interface... Windows does it for you.

That said... I would test it first.
