venue sites output to mesh

Postby oled » Thu Sep 22, 2016 5:03 am

Hi guys,

So I am having a play with venue sites for the first time.

I have exported a 3ds from sketch up and assigned an output to each of my LED surfaces in the design.

Is there a simple way I can spread an output across multiple objects/mesh. I have 6 screens s/l, 6 s/r and a bunch onstage. I would like to spread an output over all 6 on S/L and the same with a seperate output over S/R. I dont have enough players to treat them as individuals, instead I will render content laid out on a template so i can play a single file in one container that is mapped across the surfaces.

The sketch up file I started with was from a set designer and I dont want to have to remake it.
I loaded the .3ds, then in seperate layers I selected meshes from within the .3ds to assign textures to. it works but I can only assign the whole output to each mesh.

I hope the video below and my message makes sense, any help would be much appreciated.

Hi, did you ever get an answer to this or work out how to do it?

Hello oled, hi Jeremy.

thank you for bringing this up again.

To achieve the result you want, you have to attach the correct texture part for each separate object in 3ds. E.g. left object should only get texture information of the first 1/6 of the full texture information.

Alternatively, you can create these objects with correct texture information in PB (now with PB version 6) and use these objects in front of the original object.

cheers
