Asio Audio to Dante Not Working

Postby djrappa » Wed Nov 26, 2014 9:30 am

Hi
I've got a new system setup with a manager using Dante Virtual Soundcard on a second network card. Unfortunately I can't get any audio out of the machine.
Config is set to manifest asio on local machine, Dante Soundcard is selected as the device and I am outputting to chan 1 on that layer. The volume of the layer, the sequence and the master are all up.

Can anyone give me any additional config tips?
Cheers

Hi Client,
Here is the Testresult by famous Daniel Kaminski:

We tested Version 3.2.1 with 48k and 24Bit
Tests were successful, but a few things need to be considered:

Windows 7 Pro 64bit
Windows XP only in Multicast Mode (old 3.0 driver needed) and XP is officially not supported by Audinate anymore
a separate Network card is needed
!!! You should not run Pandoras Box Network, Artnet or anything else on same Network card !!!
a real Dante Device is needed in the Network

Known Issue (Dante Problem):
If a device does not work check the "sync" leds. One should blink green (this is the master clock) and the others should be lit green (slaves).

When you have a red led try changing DIP-Switch 7 to "Resume". Now the device will sync up with the others and not try to be the master.
If this does not help perhaps sending support an email might help.
I have seen now a couple of clients going the Dante way....

All the best and let us know if it works

Thanks but all these bases are covered. There are no dip switches or LEDs as we are using Dante virtual soundcard on a manager.

I can get windows to output on the Dante network. And if I change everything to WDM and use a player layer and preview it the manager will spit out audio onto Dante.
But it's manager audio layers via asio that see no output.
Dante virtual souncard see pandora as a connected asio application and pandora sees the Dante channels in the asio config tab ...

Hi,

hmm, sounds not correct. Hard to say without more Information.
please send your Manager Logs to Support(at)coolux.de
also let us know which Version of Dante Virtual Soundcard you are using.

Does the render engine on the Manager work? Can you preview Videos / Graphics?
If Not Audio will also not work, since Audio is rendered by the engine.

Have you tried using another ASIO Soundcard, just to check that ASIO works fine on your Manager?

sometimes the channel order is funny. try enabling more Dante and also more PB tracks. 1 does not necessarily equal 1 if that makes sense.

Starting with PB 6 RC2 all ASIO Tracks will be patched to ASIO Ch 1.

Inside the ASIO Configuration you can check which ASIO Ch corresponds to which Output/Dante Ch.
