Awesomium is dead and abandoned

Postby malkuth23 » Tue Feb 21, 2017 2:07 am

Awesomium is dead and abandoned. I am finding more and more webpages that are not loading correctly and it lacks multi touch and is slow to load.

Please consider moving to Coherent UI or Cefsharp or Electron or one of the other solutions available.

I really rely on being able to render web pages in PB and it is clearly a dying part of the system.

Hello Matthew,

as you might have noticed has V6 the option to choose your Webbrowser between CEF and AWESOMIUM.
AWESOMIUM is still the only option for XP Users, there will be no CEF on XP.

At the moment you will find that configuration under User/Resources

I totally did not see this and I apologize for not checking closer before posting!
Thanks!

Any notes you have about CEF? Will it work with Flash or Silverlight or annoying plug ins like that?

I am very excited about this now.

Hello Daniel,

Do you have any information that we can use to determine what is now supported with the new CEF browser assets? Does it use an internal version number, how does it handle updates, etc.? I seem to be having issues using JavaScript based players, and I want to see if it's something that can be repaired by the environment or whether it has to be repaired through the application...

Thanks,
Michael P.
