When asking make sure to include the operating system and the revision of Pandoras Box you are using. If your question is related to hardware, please state if you are using coolux hardware (which one) or if you built your own.
I do not work for Christie, but I can tell you now, they will not be able to support you nearly as well as if you left the OS stock.
Also, Windows 7 is good. Unless there is a hardware need, just leave it.
Keep in mind they do a ton of stuff to the OS other than just install it. Little registry changes, configurations etc. None of this is exactly stock. Part of what you paid for was a configured system.

clearly i wasn't clear: it comes delivered with windows 10 from factory: 2 brand new Compact Servers. i have nothing against Win10, just be aware of some gremlins of the system.
EDIT: turned out win8.1 is installed, NOT win10.

If you are running the newest PB version, you should be fine updating, but someone from Christie can confirm. I have updated several machines (though not a compact player) and they are working fine.
Christie is currently not delivering any devices using Win10, so there is no Compact Player "delivered from factory" equipped with this OS. If Win10 is installed on your new devices, please contact support under support.pandorasbox@christiedigital.com and let them know your serial numbers.

thanks for your reply. i was under the impression that the new compact servers were installed with win10 because there was a win10 licence in the box. today i got a mail from Christie that stated there is a win10 serial but it comes installed with win 8.1. i didn't have time to start the servers up yet so that's why i didn't notice it's in fact win8.1 installed.
