crossfader

Postby edrasin » Wed Jun 30, 2010 9:24 pm

Hello COOLUX,

Is it possible to daisy chain sliders so that one slider can inversely control opacity on two different layers? This would create a crossfader. Is there a better way to do this?

thanks

Hi,

there are two ways to build a crossfader.

Version 1: You put a loop on Layer 1 and set the Opacity to Full. Another Loop goes on Layer 2 and the Opacity of that Layer is controlled by a Fader. If the Fader is down you see Layer 1 and if the fader is up you can see Layer 2. If you have two Media Panels now you can easily crossfade from one to the other Layer.

Version 2: This is a bit more complex and you need a Widget Pro for that. You can create a fader input node, connect this to a fader output node and build a "ghost" fader. Now if fader one moves up, the "ghost" fader will also move up since it is linked with the nodes. So Fader 1 controls Layer 1 and the "Ghost" Fader controls Layer 2 but it is inverted. So moving the fader 1 will invert move the "ghost" fader.

I hope that helps.

best wishes

Patrick
