Dear customers,

we're happy to share the new Widget Designer 6.1.2 with you.

In this version, we have introduced the latest Phidgets as well as Christie Spyder as devices. Along with these changes, we have also added our Jog/Shuttle and Fader Extension to the configuration. This allows for streamlined scripting, better overview and regarding the Phidgets, a way broader support of devices including more flexibility.

Phidgets

Widget Designer now supports the latest products from Phidgets, including VINT Hubs, related sensors as well as all versions of wireless VINT Hubs or SBC computers. This also means, that you can connect your Phidgets anywhere in the network and just install the Phidgets driver to make them available. Simply add a Phidget Server in Widget Designer to get access to them.

Furthermore, we support multiple InterfaceKits as pre-arranged devices. This removes the complexity from your side and eases the scripting as you can access multiple channels under one device name, or simply switch all outputs at once. However, in case you are missing a device we did not implement yet, we will not stop you from using it. Simply patch separate channels instead.
At any time, you can set or get the state or values of devices. Once disconnected they will become offline in the configuration, but auto-connect and reset their intended state once the cable is plugged back in.

We have prepared a short video tutorial to get you started immediately.
Please also find an entire webinar covering the new implementation.

Christie Spyder

Up until now, Spyder was implemented as a node. As some devices are being transitioned to the configuration, we have re-implemented Spyder to this common point of control. It allows for better scripting and keeping an overview about connected devices. The protocol of X20 and X80 are nearly the same but differ in very few commands. Please note that this implementation is meant for X80 but can also be used for X20 applications.

Jog/Shuttle and Fader Extension

The Pandoras Box Jog/Shuttle and Fader Extension have also made it to the configuration.
Both devices can be assigned with scripts or parameters on all faders and buttons and you can set and read the state of their LEDs. The boards resume in their intended state once connected, even when LED values have been altered while the boards were disconnected.
